Keno Institute of Training & Research in Collaboration with Zambia Research &
Development Center (ZRDC) proudly invites applications for the following
practical trainings to be conducted in Lusaka.

1\. Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning Training Workshop, 18
– 22 nd November, 2019. Training fee: K3000 or USD 450 for international
participants.

This course provides a comprehensive understanding of Monitoring, Evaluation,
Accountability and Learning (MEAL) concepts and fits them within the logical
framework used to track progress, make adjustments, discover unplanned effects
of programmes, or judge the impact that we have made on the lives of those
with whom we are working. Participants will also familiarize with the concept
of learning and how to capture and capitalize lessons learnt and good
practices from different interventions.

_Expected Outcome_ : *> The training will enable participants to:

> Understand the basic concepts underlying Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning
> Develop MEAL indicators, systems, performance plans and frameworks;
> Elements of data quality and data quality systems
> Support the development of MEAL work pieces such as program baselines, mid-term reviews and end lines;
> Equip participants with an understanding of Quality Improvement Strategies
> Monitoring and evaluation design for utilization
> Manage, analyze and ensure data quality
> Managing evaluations
> Understand project reporting and feedback mechanism

2\. Proposal Writing for Research and Innovation Projects, 5 th to 6 th
December, 2019. Training fee K1,650 or USD 300 for international participants

This course is aimed at equipping individuals in all sectors with the relevant
skills and know-how to produce engaging, high quality, successful proposals
for development projects and research. This course has been designed to
increase organizations’ chances of winning competitive funds from partners,
donors, government & other entities. The course covers the various types of
bids and proposals and the various approaches needed to reflect these factors
including planning, writing the bid, structure and writing style as well as
partnership development, budgets and eligibility.

_Workshop Content_ *> :

> Introduction to resource mobilization principles and strategies
> Introduction to key elements of a well-crafted proposal
> A snapshot of the current funding environment for nonprofit organizations
> Basic proposal elements, proposal formats and proposal summary.
> Important elements of a successful proposal
> The life-cycle of proposal development from idea through to submission

> Needs assessment, project design frameworks, problem statement, problem justification, project goals and objectives setting, project output and outcomes, project strategy and approaches and project implementation planning.
> Project Log Frame Design/Monitoring and Evaluation Plan
> Communication, learning, adjusting and decision making
> Key elements of technical reporting

3\. Qualitative Research Methods (Using NVIVO), 9 th to 13 th December,
2019. Training fee is *> K3,000 or USD 450 for international participants

This short course provides a theoretical grounding and practical knowledge and
skills in the field of qualitative research, including the use of computer-
assisted qualitative data analysis software. Participants in this course will
be conversant with qualitative research perspectives and methods, skilled in
the techniques of qualitative research design and data collection, and will be
competent in both manual and computer-aided qualitative data analysis.

> Formulating qualitative research questions based on problem analysis
> Qualitative interviewing – theory and practice
> Focus groups in qualitative research – theory and practice
> Preliminaries of qualitative data analysis
> Qualitative data management and analysis Using NVIVO
> Design a feasible, consistent and logical small scale qualitative research proposal
> Qualitative analysis results interpretation
> Triangulating results and sources
> Writing a qualitative research report

Presenters:*> some of the presenters include Carlos Torres (Ph.D.) from
Colombia,*> a seasoned M &E expert with over 24 years of senior level
experience in different countries and Thera Rasing (Ph.D.) from Netherlands,
seasoned proposal writing and qualitative research expert with over twenty
years of experience conducting (qualitative) research and consultancies in
Zambia and beyond.

Chikwa Rd/Los Angeles Blvd, Lusaka.
