# Job Description
Our client a Retail Supermarket seeks to recruit 2 Bakers to take
responsibility for preparing and baking dough, and pastry, mixing ingredients
and cake mixtures and making and finishing flour confectionery products by
hand and using relevant machinery.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
Reporting To: Bakery Department Head
Supervision Of: Self
Interacts With: Management, Team
JOB DESCRIPTION
Check the quality of baking ingredients
Knead, roll, cut, and shape dough
Place dough in pans, molds, or on sheets
Set oven temperatures
Place and bake items in hot ovens or on grills
Prepare equipment for baking
Measure and weigh flour and other ingredients
Combine measured ingredients in mixers or blenders
Observe color and state of products being baked
Apply glazes, icings, or other toppings
CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION
Experience: 3 years plus
Education Level: Diploma Level
Qualifications: Food production qualification or related
Software: MS Office
Equipment: Job related
Knowledge Of: A Bakery, products and retail
Skills To: Make Breads, Pastries, Pies, Cupcakes, Cakes and other Baked Goods
Ability To: Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
Other Requirements: Proven experience as a Baker
