# Job Description

Right to Care is at the vanguard in supporting and delivering prevention,
care, and treatment services for HIV and associated diseases. We work with
government and communities to find pioneering solutions to build and
strengthening public .

We embrace a strong entrepreneurial culture and focuses on innovation and the
use of technology to enhance services, address skills shortages, and deliver
quality healthcare outcomes. Our areas of expertise include HIV and TB care
and treatment, pharmacy automation, medical male circumcision, and cervical
cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Right to Care Zambia has been awarded a five 5 year project funded by the
USAID through the PEPFAR mechanism. The USAID – Action HIV project aims to
reduce HIV mortality, morbidity and transmission by achieving the UNAIDS and
PEPFAR goal of 95/95/95 HIV treatment coverage by providing comprehensive HIV
Prevention, Care and Treatment maintenance services in Luapula, Northern and
Muchinga provinces of Zambia. The MECH project will work closely with and in
support of the Ministry of Health.

Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience:

–>A university degree in Health promotion, Social behaviour Change Communication SBCC, Mass Communications, Public Relations, Journalism and any other related field.
–>5 years’ experience in Health promotion/ SBCC or Development communication experience is an added advantage.
–>Ability to produce well written documents in English language a must

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

–>Minimum 3 years’ experience in USAID project environment.
–>Advanced university degree in public health, social sciences, health promotion, strategic communication planning for social change, participatory communication, project and research is an added advantage.
–>Demonstrated skills and experience in communications and public relations
–>Demonstrated history of developing and guiding high profile communications initiatives from strategy development through implementation.
–>Proficiency in computer packages relevant to the work MS Office including Publisher, Adobe Creative Suite or other Design Programs TECHNICAL AND BEHAVIOURAL

–>Excellent time and management skills

–>Develop, implement, and track impact of country and programme specific communication strategies in consultation with technical teams. Social Behaviour Change Communication SBCC clinical cascade 95-95-95 and Biomedical Prevetion PrEP, VMMC, Cervical Cancer Screening, TB Preventive Treatment, Nutrition and Family planning
–>Support the development of sound country level strategies and plans which efficiently profile the importance of RTCZ’s program, HIV transformation and influencing priorities.
–>Develop communication SOPs for right to Care Staff and other support departments.
–>Coordinate, produce and disseminate communication and advocacy materials, including brochures, project briefs, policy briefs, posters, and other visibility products in close coordination with focal points in the respective departments and in observance of corporate and USAID branding guidelines.
–>Publicize milestones through message packaging for various channels and diverse audiences.
–>Support the M&E team in ensuring Knowledge Management and Documentation.
–>Manage communications consultants, photographers, videographers and printers to ensure the creation of appropriate messaging, content, as well as high quality production of all communications materials.
–>Develop a media database and partnerships with media organizations and journalists; interact and pitch stories of interest;
–>Organize media field visits and sensitization of reporters and editors.
–>Coordinate and collaborate with programme teams on media engagement during events and missions and collect visual and audio footage for archiving.
–>Draft and disseminate press releases and talking points
–>Manage flagship RTCZ events e.g., World AIDS Day, and other international observances related to RTCZ’s mandate, project launches, workshops, etc.
–>Update RTCZ website and coordinate developing of monthly bulletins.
–>Coordinate with Programme teams while organizing high-level and high-visibility events; Coordinate and manage media engagement for high profile events. Ensure RTCZ brand visibility during events.
–>Sensitize RTCZ staff on importance of communication for publicity of RTCZ activities to different audiences including but not limited to branding, presentation skills, client engagement/extension strategies.
–>Develop communications materials for the RTCZ project in Zambia, including but not limited to the monthly Newsletter, success stories and best practices, program one-pagers, technical manuals and curricula, reports, project news for the project website, and other documents as outlined in the communications strategy or identified by senior management.
–>Work with technical teams to develop and disseminate project reports, technical briefs and other project documentation as required.
–>Provide technical advice to technical teams in the design and implementation of social behaviour change communication SBCC and outreach products.
