# Job Description


Job Purpose

The IT Manager will manage the IT Department ensuring the monitoring and
maintenance of computer systems, networks, software and other information
technology functions of the Branches and Head Office. The IT Manager is
accountable for managing the blending of technology with business practices
through the installation and configuration of computer systems, diagnosis of
hardware/software faults and solving of technical and applications problems.

Summary of Key Responsibilities;

–>Effectively and efficiently ensure the smooth running of the Head Office and all Branch computer systems
–>Provide strong day-to-day leadership to and manage overall IT-related activities;
–>Initiate plans for recruitment, training and development of IT Department staff in accordance with the Company’s requirements and make recommendations as appropriate to the Human Resources Manager;
–>Through the Senior IT Lead, provide frequent End User Training
–>Provide guidance to team members as required for installation and configuration of computer hardware, operating systems and applications;
–>Oversee the team monitoring of networks and security maintenance;
–>Ensure performance regarding the security of servers, data and software;
–>Provide guidance to the IT team members as required in troubleshooting systems and network problems as well as diagnosis and solving of hardware and software faults;
–>Create and maintain documentation of systems and IT procedures;
–>Oversee the roll-out of new applications or major updates;
–>Management and maintenance of the domain, user accounts and user access;
–>Ensure that the IT internal control registers are properly completed;
–>Inform users of planned maintenance or problems;
–>Management and maintenance of networks, inverters/online UPS, computers, databases, printers and other IT equipment as required;
–>Ensure that all software being installed is current and legal properly licenced;
–>Maintenance of the MSQL server and the daily database consolidation;
–>Lead a team in connecting of new branches to the network;
–>Management and maintenance of CCTV systems;
–>Lead the installation and maintenance of LAN and WAN network for the transaction software SAF at the Head Office and Branches;
–>Oversee the smooth running of the Smart Card system;
–>Other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor

Primary Areas of Accountability:

Qualifications and Experience

–>Masters Degree in Computer Science, preferably in System Engineering;
–>Minimum of 8-10 years related experience of which 4years must have been at middle or senior management
–>Must have worked in a similar capacity in a Commercial Bank or a well-established Microfinance Institution;
–>Knowledge and experience in the following areas: ICT Corporate Governance; ICT strategy development; Enterprise Architecture; ICT support hardware and software;
–>Good leadership and supervisory skills;
–>Strong analysis, organization and planning skills;
–>Ability to work autonomously;
–>Extensive technical experience with Core Banking solutions and related technologies
–>Considerable knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and software;
–>Knowledge in database programming such as MSQL;
–>Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
–>Strong computer skills Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database, etc..
