# Job Description
The Italian School of Lusaka is a private school registered under the Ministry
of General Education of the Republic of Zambia. The school offers high
international standards in academics, sports and other extracurricular
activities to its multinational, multicultural, multiracial students in
Zambia. The school is a Cambridge International Centre, Duke of Edinburgh
International Award – Zambia Unit, and a Member of the Independent Schools
Association of Zambia ISAZ. In order to enhance service delivery and achieve
its quest of meeting the highest international standards in education, the
Italian School of Lusaka intends to fill the following vacant positions
indicated below. Applications are therefore invited from suitable candidates
to fill the following positions:
SCHOOL HEAD
JOB PURPOSE
To lead and manage the affairs of the Italian School of Lusaka in all aspects
of academic and administrative functions, providing strategic direction in the
school system in line with the goals and objectives set out in the School
Strategic Plan
PRINCIPALACCOUNTABILITIES
i Responsible for managing and implementing the Board’s affairs and
activities
ii Assist the Zambian-Italian Cultural Centre ZICCT Coordinator with
projects and other
activities of the Centre
iii Responsible for the definition of the academic and administrative
strategies for the School
iv Raising funds and managing school resources in order to ensure efficient
running of the
school.
v Organize and supervise all the school academic affairs
vi Liaise with stakeholders including parents or guardians
QUALIFICATIONS
–>Full Grade 12 School Certificate/ Cambridge Certificate with five 5 “0” levels Credit or better including English.
–>Degree in Education or related fields, Masters is an added advantage
–>Must have in-depth knowledge of systems of international schools particularly the Cambridge curriculum
–>At least 15 years teaching experience five of which should be at senior level Head of Department, Deputy Head or Head

iii Must have excellent communication and organisational abilities
iv Good interpersonal skills v Innovative
vi Must be energetic

The Head of School will report to the School Board
